GitHub and GitLab
Connect GitHub or GitLab and choose the repositories Agent may use. Workers then read the code, change it and open pull requests or merge requests.
ConnectLink to Connect
Select Connect GitHub or Connect GitLab in setup or on Integrations.
- GitHub: install the Agent app on GitHub and choose the repositories it may read and open pull requests on.
- GitLab: connect GitLab and choose the projects Agent may read and open merge requests on.
The provider asks you to approve access on its own page. Only the repositories you choose are visible to Agent. You can remove access at any time at the provider. Only owners and admins can connect.
What "ready" meansLink to What "ready" means
A repository is ready when its connection is active. Then workers can change its code and open pull requests or merge requests. When it is not ready, the repository shows why, for example that the connection is not finished yet.
Merges and deploysLink to Merges and deploys
Merging a pull request is high risk and is on the Always ask list. A merge into a production repository's main branch is critical. See Risk tiers.
GitHub code reviewerLink to GitHub code reviewer
The GitHub integration has an optional code reviewer. It is off by default. An owner or admin turns it on in the GitHub integration, chooses the review worker, the repositories and a maximum spend per review (up to $20).
When a connection did not finishLink to When a connection did not finish
When you open the connection in another browser, or wait too long, Agent says "That connection was not finished in time or was opened in another browser." Start it again.
