Subscriptions and vendor terms

Your Claude and ChatGPT plans work through the runner on your own computer. Your plan's terms still apply, so an admin accepts a caveat before runners are allowed.

  • Claude Pro or Max, through Claude Code on your computer.
  • ChatGPT Plus or Pro, through Codex on your computer.

You sign in with claude auth login --claudeai or codex login. These open the vendor's own sign-in page. Agent never asks for, reads, stores or forwards those logins. The runner reports only whether a CLI is signed in, the method, and (for Claude) the plan name.

The caveatLink to The caveat

Runners are off until an owner or admin turns them on and accepts this caveat. In short:

  • The runner starts the official CLI on your own computer, only for tasks you own.
  • Your plan's terms still apply. OpenAI's terms forbid sharing credentials and reselling access. Anthropic does not let third-party products route requests through a subscription login.
  • Either vendor may limit or bill automated use differently from use by hand.
  • The terms change. Check them before you rely on this.

Hosted work on Agent's cloud always runs on API keys.

Allow runnersLink to Allow runners

In setup, or on Runners: read the caveat, select I have read this and checked our vendors' current terms, then Allow runners.

Other ways to use your planLink to Other ways to use your plan

You can use Agent's tools from inside Claude, ChatGPT or Codex. The model then runs in the vendor's product, on your plan. See Use Agent from Claude, ChatGPT or Codex.
