Run modes
A run mode is a preset for how work runs: Speed, Balanced, Quality, Cost or Custom. Hard gates hold in every mode.

- Speed: the fastest correct result. The fastest adequate model for each stage, parallel work, no plan review, and the targeted tests first.
- Balanced (the default): your own pipeline settings, with a plan review every time and at most one re-review of a change.
- Quality: the strongest tiers at high effort, plan review, and the most thorough verification.
- Cost: the cheapest tiers that work, one tier across the main line, and work in sequence.
- Custom: no preset. Only the settings you choose apply.
Where to set itLink to Where to set it
- For the organization: the Run mode card on Settings. Only owners and admins can change it.
- For one item: the Run mode card on the work item.
Hard gates, such as approvals and budgets, hold in every mode.
