How it works

Open a journey

Open a work item and select Journey: steps, owners and replay. On Flow, open a signal and select Journey. A signal and its work item have the same journey. On the journey of a signal, select Open on Flow to go back to the signal.

What a journey shows

  • The stage track: Signal, Triage, Plan, Build, Verify, Deploy and Shipped. The current stage is lit, and a token with the face of the current owner sits on it.
  • A lane for each person and worker. Bars show when each one owned the ticket, and in which stage. Arrows show each handoff.
  • A list of steps. Each step has a time, a face and one sentence.

Above the track, the facts show the stage, the owner, the start, the duration and the number of steps.

Replay a journey

Select Play to replay the journey from the first step. The token moves along the stages. At a handoff, the face on the token changes. The list highlights the current step.

  • Previous step and Next step move one step at a time.
  • 1×, 4× and 16× set the speed.
  • Drag the slider to go to a step, or select a step in the list.

When your device asks for reduced motion, the replay jumps from step to step without animation.

Day replay

Day replay shows every ticket that moved on one day. Choose the day with the date field or the arrows. Times use the time zone of your browser.

The counts show the steps, the tickets, the handoffs and the shipped tickets of the day. The board has one column for each stage. Select Play, and each ticket moves between the columns as the day goes on. Select a ticket to open its journey.

Limits

A journey shows at most 2,000 steps: the first 100 and the most recent ones. A day replay shows at most 5,000 steps. The sentences use names, keys and kinds only. They never copy a message or a note. Viewers and above can see journeys and day replays.
